Friday Fan-Work

Hey, it’s your boy Choujin. I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and either curled up somewhere warm or nice and toasty. Anyway, I got another piece of work from my college work. This little one was inspired from this piece of work done by H.R. Giger (the artist behind movies like Alien and Species) as an example of writing a poem based on a piece of art. Anyway I hope you enjoy it as much as I do

                                                      Pisces Zinc

A strange fish swims
in an alien body of water
whisker-like protrusions resembling webbed
fingers
Its back fin resembling a foot and leg
creating a serpentine body of two
fused limbs.
This abomination swimming in this surreal sea
with its kin, all looking the same.
All knowing the basics
swim, survive and live

What strange world this fish exists
in the mind of the very god that created it and
its kin.
Strange surreal animals, unaware of their creator
and only doing what they do best
Swim, survive and live

In the mind of God, or anyone who sees these creatures
they would be considered nightmares
abominations
demons born of
a hellish nightmare
and terrifying
However, to these creatures
their animal instincts blind them
to scorn or judgment

to them, they only do the only things they know
